Definita un capolavoro di sottigliezza giuridica; nei suoi quindici articoli è continuo il tentativo di comporre, con concessioni teoriche intrecciate a pratich…e ritrattazioni, le due posizioni opposte alle quali le parti non avevano rinunciato. Essa ammetteva la competenza del foro ecclesiastico in tutte le cause miste - con vittoria quindi della tesi ecclesiastica - ma questa competenza non veniva configurata come esclusiva bensì in concorrenza con quella statale, con la determinazione di una complicata casistica pratica che lascerà adito a numerosi conflitti. Marca xilografata al frontespizio con S. Ambrogio tra i martiri Gervasio e Protasio. Esemplare perfetto a pieni margini in barbe. Importante e rarissimo. Brossura coeva cartonata muta, pp. 29, 3b., in 8° (17,5 x 22,5 cm.).

Contestualmente alla Pia Casa, fu fondata una scuola specifica per levatrici, con l'intento di formare figure professionali qualificate, superando il sapere empirico e tradizionale dell'epoca L'iniziativa mirava a ridurre la mortalità neonatale e materna, organizzando l'assistenza al parto in modo razionale e scientifico, spesso sotto la guida di medici chirurghi.
