Vintage bookstore sticker at foot of frt pastedn. Original, price-clipped, two color (blue & brown on cream) dust wrapper has a short repair at head of spine, else is complete with light color loss at tips, displays very well in mylar. Lovely children's horse story, book beautifully illustrated with line drawings by Stanley Lloyd, with the frontis having been embellished years ago by former owner in watercolor. The Everard and Leslie families, later joined by the Andersons, have fun with their ponies. They have a picnic, play polo with field hockey sticks and walking sticks, ride over to a farm to collect their lost ginger cat Rufus, and finally go on an eighteen mile ride to see a play one of the mothers has produced.
