Settimana Gastronomica in onore degli Asparagi e della Ceramica Bassano del Grappa or, Gastronomic Week in Honor of Asparagus and Bassano del Grappa Ceramics, is the premier annual event in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. Particularly noted for the region's beautiful, large, white asparagus, Bassano del Grappa holds its asparagus festival between the last week of April and the first of May in San Zeno (Cassola) during which various restaurants and festival events serve gastronomic specialties based on asparagus. The catalogue offered for sale here is from the Festival which ran from May 11 until May 20, 1973 and was produced in collaboration by the Tourism offices of Vicenza and Bassano del Grappa, the delagation of the Vicenza Academy of Cuisine, the Agricultural bureaus, and the associations of Ceramic artisans of Bassano and Vicenza. In addition to the colour image of a ceramic plate with asparagus on the cover of the catalogue, there are nine colour illustrations of other plates in the catalogue. Opposite each is a menu detailing the dishes served at each of nine restaurants during the Festival. For example, Trattoria Bauto di Zanon was serving: Antipasto capriccioso di asparagi; Canneloni al forno con asparagi; Tagliatelle con sugo di asparagi; Fiorentina ala Baute con Contorno di asparagi; Dolce della casa; Fruta fresca di stagione; with Merlot del Montello and Bianco del Montello -- Lira 3,500 completo (vini exclusi). Laid in at the rear of the catalogue is a separate publication comprising a cookbook of ten recipes for aparagus -- Gli Asparagi di Bassano - 10 ricette a cura di Luciana Bianchetti.
