Contemporary calf, blind rules to boards, blind fillets along joints, raised bands, lettering pieces, black-stamped volume numbers and early ink shelf number (?) to spine, gilt tooling to board edges. Light rubbing and moderate scuffing to boards, heavier rubbing to extremities with wear to spine ends and corners, which are bumped, boards beginning to separate, but secure, front free endpaper detached and lightly edgeworn. Moderate toning to text, somewhat heavier in places, light foxing to preliminaries and a few other leaves. $150. * Second edition. One of the most ambitious and admired works of its time, the Modern Reports began as a four-volume set issued from 1682 to 1703. A fifth volume was added in 1711.
