Add to basketCondition: Sehr gut. 4°. 27,5 x 19,5 cm. Original imitation vellum binding with rich gilt tooling and blue decoration, set with blue glass beads, gold-illustrated endpapers, and gilt edge. One of 300 copies, this copy unnumbered. Norwegian-language edition. With partly gold-heightened colour illustrations by Gerhard Munthe, four of them full-page, including the two decorative title pages. With "Draumkvæde", Gerhard Munthe (1849-1929) created a high point of his book art, uniting a visual language shaped by Norwegian folk art, medieval ornamentation, and Art Nouveau. In addition to the illustrations, he designed the entire artistic conception of the volume, from the binding and decorative borders to a specially developed medieval-inspired typeface, calligraphed by Aug. Sørensen. The binding was executed by H. M. Refsum. The work was published in an edition of 300 copies, most of which were distributed to members of the Society for Norwegian Book Art, as it was not offered for general sale. Binding only lightly spotted and minimally rubbed. A fine copy of this bibliophile work. Sprache: Norwegisch.…
