Rarissime, et sans doute tiré uniquement pour les membres du Directoire de la Gironde.Le médecin Jean-Baptiste-Henri de Monbalon (1755-1837) fut une personnalité discrète, mais importante, de la période révolutionnaire à Bordeaux : il fut à l'origine de la bibliothèque municipale, et, comme nous le voyons par ce rapport, le fondateur du cimetière de la Chartreuse, le plus ancien de la ville, aménagé à la suite de notre texte dans les jardins du couvent cartusien, dans le même contexte hygiénique qui avait fait vider à Paris le cimetière des Innocents. "Je crois suffisamment démontré qu'il est convenable à la ville de Bordeaux de n'avoir qu'un seul cimetière pour toutes les paroisses, et qu'il doit être placé dans le grand enclos des Chartreux. Fixés sur cette grande question, il ne reste plus qu'à donner à cet établissement l'exécution la plus prompte ; elle est d'autant plus pressante, que dans tous les cimetières actuels les corps sont si accumulés, qu'il est impossible de les couvrir suffisamment".Dès septembre 1791, la parcelle de 16 hectares fut saisie par la municipalité, mais les aménagements ne furent effectués qu'à partir de 1797, et l'inauguration officielle n'eut lieu que le 2 mai 1817.Aucun exemplaire au CCF. - - VENTE PAR CORRESPONDANCE UNIQUEMENT - LIEN DE PAIEMENT, NOUS CONSULTER.
