Collaborators : Luis Bossano, Erich Herzog, Felipe Herrera, Haya de la Torre, Moises Poblete Troncoso, Anouar Abdel-Malek, Victor Alba, Norman Thomas, Gordon Lewis, Toshiro Nishimaki, Valentin Toma, German Arciniagas, Calixto Maso y Velazquez, Carlos M. Rama, Harry Kantor, Sanchez Zinny, Russell Fitzgibbon, Otto Probst, Willi Birkelbach, Romulo Betancourt, Julio Cesar Jobet, Enrique Lumen, Aharon Yedlin,Leon Pachelo, Maurice Faure, Pompeu Accioly Borges, Walterio Mercado Alder, Chikao Fujisawa, Luis Bossano, Among others. A significant event that must be rescued in Latin American thought and of which Luis Alberto Monge is a great protagonist from the ideological point of view is when in July 1958, the first issue of the bimonthly magazine Combate, a publication of the International Institute of Political-Social Studies, and its four editors were great Latin American ideologues: Rómulo Betancourt, Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, José Figueres Ferrer and Luis Alberto Monge Álvarez. Monge, becomes the Director of the Magazine and his position as editor is filled by Eduardo Santos. This magazine is a great ideological platform. Combat emphasizes social democracy, human dignity and the fight for the freedom of the peoples. They affirm the following: A bond of solidarity between those who advance along the path of the integral liberation of man and those to whom it is intended to close that path. It is a message of rebellion against all forms of oppression; a voice of encouragement for those who are threatened by hopelessness; and a fraternal hand stretched out for all those who want to guide their thoughts, their strength and their entire lives on the path of human improvement. "and also explains Combate will collect, pristine, the echo of those who protest against the colonial yoke. It will turn the repudiation of tyrannies into an ever renewed proclamation. He will fight relentlessly for the right of the peoples to more bread and more culture. Missing from all bibliographies. B4.".
