C'est sur la recommandation de Max Bunot que Thyde Monnier se permet d'écrire à Pierre Fresnay . Quelle gloire et quelle immense fierté seraient pour moi d'être interprété par vous ! Et il est vrai que votre admiratrice depuis longtemps j'avais déjà pensé à vous en créant "Marchand de bonheur" [Personnage de son roman Permission… dêtre heureux, paru en 1952 chez Gallimard] . Cependant, elle voit mal cet ouvrage adapté au théâtre, alors qu'il pourrait . donner un excellent film, avec ce mélange de féérie et de réalité qui séduit fréquemment le public . Elle veut simplement savoir si le comédien serait intéressé par une adaptation dont elle ferait les dialogues. . Je me permets aussi d'adresser à Madame Yvonne Printemps, l'hommage de mon admiration et de mon amitié .Pierre Fresnay envisage volontiers une adaptation cinématographique et accepterait le rôle proposé. Il demande à Thyde Monnier de lui fournir une "continuité" afin de pouvoir se faire une idée plus précise de l'ensemble, une fois les séquences découpées. Il contactera alors . quelques producteurs intelligents et honnêtes . Il aimerait que Jean Tedesco signe la mise en scène.

1 lettre autographe signée 2 pp. In-4 22 juin 1945 Papier gris à en tête imprimé "Thyde Monnier - Manosque". Bon Dense et très intéressante lettre littéraire de l'écrivaine Thyde Monnier. Elle termine la correction "à mes moments volés" de son dernier romanLa Veuve aux yeux verts[Gutenberg, 1945]. Et demande à ce qu'on termine l…es dernières corrections à sa place, car elle doit se rendre en Suisse. "N'oubliez que je tiens à la précision de roman policier sur la couverture pour ne pas tromper mes lecteurs habituels. La bande : Thyde Monnier a tiré/construite/etc. pour vous cette intrigue policière, ne me déplairait pas [.]". Elle relate ensuite une anecdote étonnante et très intéressante : Dorgelès aurait promit le Prix Goncourt à Elsa Triolet pour remercier Aragon de le soutenir face à Henri Manuel : "Il y a un scandale Goncourt que j'ai appris de plusieurs côtés et qu'il faut répandre généreusement. Roland Dorgelès, ex-ami de Manuel le gd photographe parisien, s'étant fâché avec lui, l'a dénoncé comme juif. Gifle reçue par Dorgelès dans le métro, procès. Dorgelès effrayé demande à Aragon de le couvrir. Aragon accepte, mais laisse entendre que Dorg. doit faire obtenir le Goncourt à sa femme Elsa Triolet et Dorgelès promet. Carco et Colette sont au courant. Les choses en sont là. Je vois cet après-midi Carco et Manuel, demain Colette. Je vous raconterai la suite [.]". Elsa Triolet fut lauréate du prix Goncourt en 1944 (pour Le Premier accroc coûte deux cents francs), prix qui lui sera décerné en 1945. Ecrivaineetféministefrançaise.
