La Plaquette raccoglie cinque componimenti: La Casa dei Doganieri, Cave D'Autunno, Vecchi Versi, Stanze, Carnevale dei Gerti, poi ricompresa nella seconda raccolta poetica, «Le Occasioni», pubblicata da Einaudi nel 1939. Si tratta di fatto della seconda pubblicazione assoluta dell'autore dopo la raccolta d'esordio, «Ossi di seppia», che nel 1932 erano già alla terza edizione modificata. Il premio prende il nome dal cenacolo della «Tavolata dell'Antico Fattore», dove un gruppo di artisti e intellettuali si riunivano alla trattoria omonima, in Firenze, ogni mercoledì sera, e annualmente davano ai torchi una placchetta poetica in pregevole stampa su carta forte e ornata dai disegni degli artisti del gruppo: Libero Andreotti, Felice Carena, Alberto Magnelli, Guido Peyron, Gianni Vagnetti. A32 in 8°, brossura editoriale beige, fogli legati con doppio punto metallico, titoli in nero e rosso con fregio disegnato da Guido Peyron al piatto anteriore, pp. 30 [2] con tavole in bianco/nero nel testo.
