Nelson Augustus Moore (1824 - 1902) was an American painter, photographer and sculptor. From 1864 he devoted himself prima…rily to landscape painting. The painters of the Hudson River School , of which he himself is occasionally counted, had a great influence on him. He found his motifs mostly in the rural areas of his home state of Connecticut. Today, many works by the artist, who was recognized during his lifetime, can be found in Connecticut's art museums. Significant collections are held by the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford and the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain . Signed by Significant Other.
