Schriften, die dann in den philosophischen Traktaten des Karl Marx (1818-1883) gipfeln sollten, der den ersten Band seines Hauptwerkes "Das Kapital" 1867 herausbringen sollte.Théodore Morin (1814-1890) war Bürgermeister von Dieu-le-Fit in der Drôme unter Louis-Philippe, wurde nach der Revolution vom Februar 1848 von den Wählern seines Departements in die verfassungsgebende Versammlung entsandt. Bei den Parlamentswahlen wurde er nicht wiedergewählt, wurde jedoch bei den Nachwahlen von 1849 ernannt und schloss sich dem Staatsstreich vom 2. Dezember 1851 an. Er war Mitglied der Beratungskommission und trat 1852 mit Unterstützung der Regierung als Abgeordneter der Drôme in die Legislative ein, wo er bis zum Sturz des Kaiserreichs 1870 ununterbrochen tätig war. Vor seiner legislativen Karriere veröffentlichte er den vorliegenden Band über die Arbeiterklasse mit den folgenden Kapiteln: "De l'inégalité des conditions" (Über die Ungleichheit der Lebensbedingungen); ferner "Phases successives de l'organisation du travail" (Die einzelznen Etappen der Organisation von Arbeit) und im Vergleich dazu eine aktuelle Bestandsaufnahme: "De l'organisation actuelle du travail". Es folgte das Kapitel über die Schaffung von Reichtum und Wohlstand "De la production des richesses", ferner die damit einhergehenden Sozialsituationen der Arbeiter: "Du principe de population", "Position du problème social", woraus sich wiederum ein Imperativ für die Regierenden ergibt: "Devoirs du gouvernement et des Citoyens". Den Schluss bilden "Craintes, espérances" und der internationale Vergleich in "De quelques systèmes contemporains" sowie die Rolle der Kirche "Religion, Charité". Papierbedingt nur vereinzelt ganz leicht fleckig, meist aber sehr sauber, frisch und wohlerhalten. Aus der Gelehrtenbibliothek des österreichischen Volkswirtschaftlers und Sozialpolitikers Viktor Mataja (1857-1934), der zwischen 1908 und 1911 und dann noch einmal 1917 das kaiserlich-königliche Handelsministeriums in Wien leitete und dessen Bruder der österreichische Außenminister Heinrich Mataja (1877-1937) war.
