Von 1860-1904 veröffentlichte er 30 Arbeiten hierüber. Er bestätigte experimentell die Entwicklung der Finne von Taenia saginata im Rind und versuchte, die direkte Entwicklung von Ascaris lumbricoides durch Verabreichung embryonierter Eier an Kinder zu erreichen." -Enigk, p.154 Erich Peiper (1856-1938) Kinderarzt; er forschte auf den Gebieten der Impfungen, der Parasitologie und der Säuglingshygiene. Durch sein Wirken konnte die Säuglingssterblichkeit im vorpommerschen Raum deutlich gesenkt werden. Im Jahr 1913 weihte er den Neubau der Kinderklinik in Greifswald ein. Er baute eine moderne Kinderheilkunde an der Universität Greifswald auf.
