Part IV; 260 pages + 21 Plates + 1 map ( 6 single plates + 15 folding plates ). Condition quarter leather & mottled binding very good with some rubbing. Contents good, some ageing of paper, some minor dirt or marks, some folded corner tips, the odd edge wear, a few plates with edge trimmed, a couple look as if by binder, a few with miss-folding, a few with edge wear/loss, one torn without loss. Looks like the binding is about 1800-1850 with extra hand made end pages. Yes we know our description is very different from others put on before us, but we checked every page and every plate. To explain the plates Part III there are 2 plate numbers on one folding sheet & in both parts they go to plate No. XX, but 2 plates in each part have the same plate number & also there is a folding map of. Part of Spain with small section of Gibraltar that does not have a plate number, but has the correct page number to be opposite, Also 2 of the folding plates are maps one of the New Philippine Islands and one of California, showing the passage of land to the rest of the US discovered between 1698-1701as before the maps showed California as an Island.
