The diary is a hand-written day-to…-day record of the life of a man living and farming near Sheffield and also occasionally acting as a doctor. (Turnips feature in a major way in the account.) Places mentioned include Tinsley, Blythe, Harthill, Worksop, Sheffield, Carlton, Oldcotes. The diary is written in ink and starts on January 1st and stops on September 9th 1833.
