Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Not Stated (illustrator). First edition. A very scarce first edition of this intriguing topographical guide to the village of Liss in Hampshire, wonderfully illustrated throughout. First edition. Very scarce. In the publisher's original purple cloth binding.Wonderfully illustrated with a frontispiece, nine further plates and a folding map. Lacking the "key" illustration to face page 30, which is instead replaced by the additional plate "At Lyss" to page 34.A lovely topographical guide to the village of Liss in Hampshire, covering the history of prehistoric times up until the grand houses and natural surroundings to be found towards the end of the nineteenth century and contemporary era. In the publisher's original purple cloth binding. Externally, smart with minimal bumping and rubbing, leading to minor loss of cloth at the spine head and tail. Slight sunning, particularly to spine, and the odd mark. Internally, reasonably firmly bound with the odd delicate page, especially between the title page and frontispiece. A bright and clean copy with light sporadic spotting, heavier to the first and last few pages. Very Good. book.
