Frontice plate + viii + 486 pages + one page list of books by S.H.A.H. + 14 plates (15 with frontice ) and 12 line drawings of coats-of-arms within text, complete as listed. Blue hardback binding size 22 x 18cm., fair/good, minor damp staining front/rear. Contents mostly very good, Inside front cover paper clip size loss to top and rust mark either side, Inside front with 1937 gift inscription (both with Jermyn in names), with x's in ink to edge of a few pages at front, otherwise mostly very good, clean & tight copy. This looks like printed by a partly drunk printer as between pages 369 to 384, pages not in order, but all present, i.e. page 369 with the other side of page 374, page 381 other side of page 378 etc. To outside some minor light blue staining to some edges. . From Net; S.H.A.H. is the Rev. Sydenham Henry Augustus Hervey born on 20 December 1846, in Ickworth House, Suffolk, England, his father, Right Rev. Arthur Charles Hervey. Ickworth House was built between 1795 and 1829, an estate owned by the Hervey family, Marquesses of Bristol. In 1956, the house, park, and a large endowment were given to the National Trust in lieu of death duties. The last Hervey living at Ickworth, the drug fueled Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol sold the remaining lease back to the National Trust, after blowing his £35 million inheritance, mostly on cocaine & due to his drug abuse. Thick heavy book, so if going outside the UK, may have extra shipping.
