An odd book, Is a number of books bound together, the First being "Lancashire Songs" though someone has pasted an article over the rest of the title page so the date and publisher cannot be determined though the printer stated on the last page is John Heywood, Manchester. Included are poems such as: Uncle Dick's Advoice to Sengle Women; Uncle Dick's Advoice to Sengle Men; Uncle Dick's Advoice to Wed Women and Uncle Dick's Advoice to Wed Men as well as other poems such as Owd Fogey; and The Quack Doctor. Next bound in is some form of masonic hand-book that has had the title page removed and starts on page 9 (before this on a blank page a contemporary previous owner has written recipes for some herbal concoctions) With the Pages headed "The Good of the Order". Next bound in again with no title page is some form of manual for the Constitution of the Grand Lodge and Subordinate Lodges, and then another publication "Good Templar Chimes" which has Templar/masonic songs, some of which are credited to have been written by a Mrs H. Noel Thatcher. Lastly there is a volume called "New Lodges Independent Order of Good Templars. Bound in black calf which is bumped and rubbed at the corners and edges, front board almost detached, hanging on by one cord, odd random pages from other books about the weight of the earth, other tunes pasted on, a few illegible pencil notes and scribbles. Book condition Front cover detached, back cover slightly loose at one end, spine very rubbed with slight loss.
