Shallow chips and tears to overhung bottom and fore-edge, with a closed 2" tear at bottom front adjacent to spine and another to back cleanly along it; some light creasing and a few smudges to back. Incorrect date "Mar 4 1948" stamped at top front" Spine a bit cocked but unbroken; shallow chipping at ends with a bit of loss to text at tail. Pages a bit toned but unmarked. Binding is sound. Contains Leigh Brackett's novella Queen of the Martian Catacombs (the debut of her Erik John Stark character), Stanley Mullen's short story "S.O.S. Aphrodite!," Alfred Coppel's "The Starbusters," and Margaret St. Clair's "Garden of Evil," among others. Cover illustration by Allen Anderson.

Adhesive staining to verso of front cover. Boards nudged at corners and spine ends. A tear to page 15 and glue to the gutter of final page but binding is secure. Some offsetting to endpapers. Pages unmarked. Signed by the author without dedication on front free endpaper. A Very Good or better copy overall of Mullen's world of fighting lizard-folk and battle-ready wizards.
