This specific hardback book is in good condition with some soiling to the cover, but with edges and corners that are sharp and also has a tight binding. The pages are slightly yellowed with age and due to paper quality but are otherwise clean and uncreased. There is a stain to the top page edges which has not tarnished the inside of the book in any way. The dust jacket is severely worn with significant rubbing and some tears and a few places where there are missing sections of the jacket. Stan Musial was a Major League baseball player, playing first base and outfield for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1941-1963. He is considered one of the most reliable hitters in baseball history, being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. During his tenure with the Cardinals, he was named the league MVP three times and helped lead the team to three World Series Pennants. In 2011, shortly before his death, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He passed away in 2013.
