    1st edition dust jacket Nice Copy small octavo 192pp., frontis., b/w plates, map, Reprint of the 1926 edition. 'Told by Malida, an aged Matabele, prior to his death in 1899, it spans the years from about 1820-1896. Malida who related the story to "Mziki", a Native Commissioner, recalls his boyhood with the Kumalo clan in Natal. An oustanding account in the oral tradition, we see a charming yet gripping tale. Bill Woolmore's copy with his signature.

    A clean sound copy of the very scarce First Edition crudely hand lettered to the spine. The Essay was awarded First Prize by the The British South African Company in 1911 in a competition open to all Civil Servants, on Native Subjects; Customs, Sociology, History Native Lore etc. its author grew up in Zululand and came to Rhodesia in June 1890. Six years later he he was appointed Native Commissioner and held the post for twenty- two years. Cr.8vo. 151 pps. original cloth backed printed boards inscribed to the front paste-down by Anthropologist Charles Theodore Binns (1894-1978) who lived amongst the Zulu nation for many years, becoming an expert on their history and culture.
