Der wahre Verfasser dieser sotadischen Satire, Nicolas Chorier, Stadtadvokat in Grenoble, schob die obszönen Gespräche der in jungen Jahren bereits verstorbenen Hofdame der Donna Maria von Portugal, Aloisia Sigaea (1530 - 1560) aus Toledo, unter, die für ihre Keuschheit und tugendhaften Sitten hochberühmt war. 1658/59, als das Buch erschien, war sie allerdings schon 100 Jahre tot. The original edition of this mystified imprint "Lugdunum, Ex typis Elzevirianis" was printed by Barbou in Paris. (Willems 2178). But this one is definitely printed in the second half of the 19th century. "Ascribed to Joannes Meursius, but by Nicolas Chorier and attributed by him to Aloisia Sygaea. Das Buch [= Elegantiae Latini sermonis] gilt noch im 19. Jh. als eine der schlimmsten Obszönitäten der Literaturgeschichte, ein "livre infame". (H.
