    Copertina rigida. Condition: Molto buono. Nato a Udine nel 1862 (dove morì nel 1938) da famiglia di tradizione liberale (la madre, una Degani, era Ğpatriota ardenteğ). N. si formò alla scuola carducciana Ğdi gusto classico e severa educazione moraleğ di Luigi Pinelli. agli anni della giovinezza risale una produzione letteraria in italiano, ma Ğdisuguale e frammentariağ. La sua scrittura dialettale affiorò in età già matura (il poeta aveva quasi sessant?anni) dopo la prima guerra mondiale, nel clima fervido che si accompagnò alla nascita della Società filologica e al ricomporsi della società friulana nel dopoguerra. Egli stesso motivò la scelta nella prefazione ai Versi friulani del 1922, legandola allo stato d?animo comune e al rientro Ğe pàtrie ciareğ, alla cara patria, al Friuli dopo l?invasione, con l?ansia di una rinnovata attenzione alla cultura e alle tradizioni locali, nonché al risveglio della Muse matarane, la Musa burlona di ascendenza zoruttiana, e più avanti esprimendo il convincimento che convenga Ğtignî ben cont dai dialèzğ perché Ğdut e ben si pò dì cun lorğ [tenere da conto i dialetti, perché tutto e bene si può dire con loro], in Lenghe e dialèt. La raccolta del 1922 uscì in edizione ampliata nel 1934 e rappresenta la sua opera più rilevante (tra le due guerre N. fu autore molto popolare), affiancandosi ai testi italiani e friulani di umorismo e a un teatro ben rappresentato.
