Some edge wear and rubbing to edges of stapled soft covers (with illustrations of peasants picking grapes) and spine, some slight overall dust staining, corners slightly bent, Internally clean and tight, overall a vg+ copy. 5pp. The wine Price List for Nassauer Brothers (Established 1858) 'Merchants and Shippers of High Class Wines', Rudolf Nassauer (1924-97), was also an author whose most important work 'The Hooligan', was the first in depth analysis of Nazi psychology and became a Sixties cult book. His Jewish family came to London from Frankfurt after Kristallnacht and after the death of his father in the 1960s, Nassauer continued to run the family wine business until it collapsed some years later. Subsequently he became a director of the wine merchants Ehrmann's, where he worked until retiring in 1991. I wish one could still buy Nuits St. Georges for 168/- for a dozen bottles! An interesting piece of culinary history.
