Twelve NON-CONSECUTIVE issues of THE RING:WORLD'S FOREMOST BOXING MAGAZINE, ranging from 1950 to1955. British-marketed edition. Complete world news about boxing in the U.S.,and around the world. Includes Wrestling as well. Loads of photographs. Articles, in-depth features, advertisements, ratings, stats, legal issues national and international, discussions about the relative superiority of various boxers, prognosticating who will need to fight whom in order to achieve what, etc. It appears as if the only thing British about this British edition is the price on the cover! Condition: A few of these issues have creases, covers separated or occasionally, an internal page dog-eared or crinkled, but all are present. These 1950s issues are all brightly colored, and appear to be more drawings than photographs, which the magazine changed to in a few short years. THE RING is a magazine which a man may take home with him. He may leae it on his library table safe in the knowledge that it does not contain one line of matter either in the text or advertisements which would be offensive. The publisher of THE RING guards this reputation of his magazine jealously. It is entertaining and it is clean." Very cool to read the seventy+-year-old news about the "Sweet Science", and its great players.
