Néarque, célèbre navigateur Crétois du IVe siècle avant J.-C, fut amiral d'Alexandre. Son voyage est le premier fait par les Grecs sur l'océan Indien, Alexandre cherchant ainsi à établir des communications sûres dans son vaste empire.
