A self-trained artist and naturalist, Ned Smith created thousands of astonishingly accurate drawings and paintings of wildlife for books, magazines and other publications, as well as dozens of limited edition prints. Ned Smith's work first appeared in Pennsylvania Game News in 1948, and he created his first cover art in 1950. His work was featured on 119 covers before his death in 1985. His art is considered to be iconic of Game News and the Game Commission, and his work remains highly collectable.
