Dark blue cloth with bright gilt stamped spine lettering, slight bump to spine heel. Ink signature of Mississippi Democrat US Representative Thomas G. Abernethy (1903-1998; in office from 1943-1972) on front pastedown now unfortunately obscured under several bold swaths of black marker with the latter causing a short horizontal band of discoloration at top of dj's front flap. A very good+ copy in a very good dust jacket. Text based upon three lectures - "Freedom and Federalism," "Federalism and National Life," and "Federalism and Free World Order" - delivered by Nelson Rockefeller on February 7, 8, and 9, 1962 at Harvard University in their annual Godkin series. Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller (1908-1979) was, of course, served as Governor of New York from 1959 to 1973 and as Vice President of the United States from 1974 to 1977 during the Gerald Ford administration.
