Binding quite rubbed, two large pieces of the spine are now missing, at top and bottom. The text block is just a bit toned as usual -- but this 1871 annual issue of the Deutsches Magazin… für Garten- und Blumenkunde has all 12 of the regular color printed lithographic plates -- including the folding plate: "Dahlia arborea" in the January issue. Contents complete, but the Prämienbilde -- mentioned on the title page -- is missing, as usual. [These "premium plates" were loosely inserted in each year of the annual magazine. Finding one now, a century and a half later, is highly unusual].

The text block is just a bit toned as usual -- but this 1870 annual issue of the Deutsches Magazin für Garten- un…d Blumenkunde has all 12 of the regular color printed lithographic plates -- two of these color printed lithographs are folding plates : "Wisteria macrobotrys" in the January issue; and "Wilelmina von Verna." One of the other color plates is a handsome depiction of "early" asparagus [Frueher gelber bergrunder Spargel] -- which looks especially pleasing having been printed against a background paper sheet toned in pale greenish grey. Contents complete, but the Pramienbilde -- mentioned on the title page -- is missing, as usual. [These "premium plates" were loosely inserted in each year of the annual magazine.
