Binding quite rubbed, two large pieces of the spine are now missing, at top and bottom. The text block is just a bit toned as usual -- but this 1871 annual issue of the Deutsches Magazin für Garten- und Blumenkunde has all 12 of the regular color printed lithographic plates -- including the folding plate: "Dahlia arborea" in the January issue. Contents complete, but the Prämienbilde -- mentioned on the title page -- is missing, as usual. [These "premium plates" were loosely inserted in each year of the annual magazine. Finding one now, a century and a half later, is highly unusual].

The text block is just a bit toned as usual -- but this 1870 annual issue of the Deutsches Magazin für Garten- und Blumenkunde has all 12 of the regular color printed lithographic plates -- two of these color printed lithographs are folding plates : "Wisteria macrobotrys" in the January issue; and "Wilelmina von Verna." One of the other color plates is a handsome depiction of "early" asparagus [Frueher gelber bergrunder Spargel] -- which looks especially pleasing having been printed against a background paper sheet toned in pale greenish grey. Stempel auf Titel, die ersten Seiten fleckig bzw. fingergriffig, sonst nur gelegentlich wie z.B. die letzte Seite vor den Tafeln. Meist sauber und in gutem Zustand.
