Contributions from the Charleston Museum, No. XIII. "By the publication of the Christopher Happoldt Journal the Charleston Museum hope to accomplish two things: first, to make available a valuable document of primary source materials, only recently discovered, in the life of a brilliant nineteenth century physician; and second, to provide a short biographical sketch of the Reverend John Bachman, one of America's neglected scientists, of whom Christopher Happoldt was a protege." Includes details of Bachman's close association with John James Audobon, and his collaboration with him in creating his famous series of bird paintings, of which Bachman supplied the scientific details. .
