(Dow) Allinson was an American Conscientious Objector during World War I who was convicted for desertion and imprisoned from 1918 to 1921; he later became a lecturer and writer on the USSR; Joseph Jablonower (1888-1971), active in the Ethical Culture Movement, was a charter member of the Teachers Union which formed in New York in 1910.
