No Binding. Condition: Fair. Portrait of Michael Ophovius. Born 22 January 1570 in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Died 4 November 1637 in Lier, Belgium. Etching by Nicolas van den Bergh (1725-1774), after Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), c. 1880. Reasonable condition. Paper a bit browned. With a closed tear in the upper edge, affecting the image. Verso: blank, with traces of former mounting. Note: a later impression, ca. 1880. Dimensions: 261 x 197 mm. Michael Ophovius was Bishop, Theologian, Bishop of 's-Hertogenbosch, Missionary, Inquisitor, Churchman, Inquisitor in Antwerp, and Missionary in the Dutch Republic. c. 1880. Print.
