Condition: VG. 9pp extract, printed in double columns, illustrated with 14 drawings of jumper John Higgins' various feats, salvaged from a damaged issue of The Strand Magazine, Volume XIV, No. 83, December, 1897. Illustrations include Higgins jumping over a horse, jumping into a case of eggs without breaking any, jumping over eleven chairs, jumping into a tub of water then out again without touching the bottom, jumping to extinguish a candle on a man's hat atop his head, another candle-extinguishing feat, two long and delicate jumps, ringing a bell in flight, a great backward jump, the kangaroo feat over a ring of chairs, the human obstacle, jumping over the human wall, jumping onto then off of a man's face without hurting the man, and jumping over a full-sized brougham. Housed in protective mylar report cover with spine sleeve. Scarce.
