As for the book itself, find light streaky foxing to top edge and one or two flecks to fore-edge, else perfectly sound, clean and unmarked; and as for the dust jacket, expect mild edgewear, faintly sunned spine panel, and an irritating little sticker at the tail. Bruccoli : "The present text is an offset facsimile of the first printing .(London, Martin Secker, 1924). No editorial alterations of any kind have been made." He states that materials toward a definitive edition exist, and cites university holdings of early Lawrence typescripts.

Shaw, a pseudonym adopted by T. E. Lawrence, was first published in a limited edition in the U.K. in 1932 by Emery Walker et al, and in its first trade edition by Oxford U. P. in September, 1932. Then this "popular edition" was first printed in 1934. The popular edition is slightly shorter than the original trade edition. Near Fine condition. No Dust Jacket. The Text Block is clean, lightly tanned, tight, straight and square with brown topstain, deckled fore-edges and no markings of any kind other than about 12 pages with ink marks. The Binding is full tan cloth, very few color variances, with a circular black design of Odysseus and the Harpies on the front board, black title, etc., to the spine, unmarked map endpapers showing the wanderings of Odysseus, mildly bumped corners., and wear at the head of the spine. Lettering on printed label inset to spine. Tall octavo, pp. [2], 54, with copies of 14 original photographs tipped into text. Printed on Zerkall mould-made paper, 11pt. Caslon. An anonymous account, with Introduction, detailing the latter part of Lawrence's RAF career and life, when he was posted as an aircraftman to Bridlington from November 1934 to February 1935. This is an elegant edition of a useful account of this part of TES's life and contains excellent photographs, one printed from the original glass plate negative of TEL in uniform at Ian Deheer's garden, Flamborough and two versions (one previously unpublished) of the photograph of TEL leaving Bridlington on his pushbike. A book in Fine condition.
