Nicknamed "Cosmic punch," this heavyweight boxing contender of the 1930s and '40s transitioned into film, appearing in a handful of films from the 1940s into the 1960s. IPS (photocopy), 7½" X 10", n.p., 9 April 1990. Very good. Light mailing folds. Photocopy sent out by Nova himself to admirers, a full-length shot showing Nova throwing a punch at Joe Louis -- printed caption at upper right notes: "LOU NOVA 202½ versus JOE LOUIS 202¼ / WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT, 60,675 FANS / SEPT. 19, 1941 POLO GROUNDS, NEW YORK. / LOUIS BY TKO 6th. ROUND. NATIONS BIGGEST RADIO AUDIENCE." On the blank lower margin, Nova pens in black ballpoint, large and bold: "4/9/90 To Richard C. Laade / Best Always -- Lou Nova." Although inscribed and signed on a photocopy, an interesting image sent out by the Cosmic punch himself.
