This is a first edition, a delightful volume of Lancaster"s satirical cartoons.More Pocket Cartoons (1943) This is a first edition of this sharp collection of wartime-era satirical cartoons showcasing Lancaster's wit and stylish line work.The Villa Diana (1951). This is a first edition of Alan Moorehead"s charming travel memoir, illustrated by Osbert Lancaster"s signature, humorous illustrations.All Done from Memory (1963). This edition is the first widely published edition following the signed 1953 limited release, of which there were only 45 copies. First edition, thus. Lancaster"s nostalgic and droll recollections of English life, illustrated with his signature flair.Liquid Assets (1975) This copy is a first edition. This is a wry look at British society and its quirks through Lancaster's economical and incisive cartoon style.The Social Contact: New Pocket Cartoons (1977). This copy is a first edition. Lancaster dissects the rituals of modern social life in cartoons, with his trademark dry humor.Ominous Cracks: New Pocket Cartoons (1979). This is a third edition of this work. This collection of cartoons reflects the shifting tensions of late-70s Britain. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, Slight damp staining and spotting to the boards of "Villa" with one or two slight handling marks. Blind stamp from Harrods Library to rear paste down. Damp staining and spotting to the upper perimeters of boards on "New Pocket Cartoons". One or two handling marks to boards of "More Pocket Cartoons", with slight discolouration to spine. Previous owner"s inscription to front free endpaper of this copy "To Uncle. For being a nuisance for a fortnight. Xmas 1943. Geoff B.". The other copies are externally, excellent, with only slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Slight offsetting and the odd spot to endpapers of older editions. Dust wrappers, smart. Age toning to older editions, with the odd spot. Rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in the odd chip and closed tear. For "New Pocket Cartoons", slight damp staining to upper edge of endpapers, also affecting the back flap of dust wrapper. Marks and slight damp staining to rear panel of dust wrapper. He odd closed tear to extremities and front panel, with the odd chip to extremities. This dust wrapper more worn than other copies. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with older editions being slightly more age toned often with one or two spots to fore edge and first and last few leaves. Very Good. book.
