An important work of Irish history, the Home Rule effort and its tragic leader, Charles Stuart Parnell. Thomas Power O'Connor (1848-1929) was a Member of Parliament from 1885 to his death, so he was witness and participant in the Irish struggle for freedom. His co-author is identified as an important member of "the Land League in the U.S." Diaspora assistance was more than welcom, as the Land League in Ireland had been suppressed. This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition. Decorative blindstamped cloth, with the title filled with gilt on the front and spine. Clean text; 624 pages, illustrated; decorated endpapers. There is wear to the margins This is a solid cop,y but unfortunately the covers have darkened, so although the design is visible, the deorative effect is much diminished. First American Edition.
