Herbert Oehm was born in 1935 in Ulm, Germany 1957 - 59 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich with Ernst Geitlinger 1958 first monochrome, composition-free pictures (filler structures, sand pictures, hole pictures) contact with almir mavignier 1959 - 60 studied at the University of Design, Ulm, among others. master student of Friedrich vordemberge-gildewart. oehm produces geometrically structured sand paintings. first group exhibitions in Hanover and Baden-Baden. Oehm met Mack and Piene through Mavignier, who took him to the ZERO exhibition in July 'dynamo 1' in the Galerie Boukes, Wiesbaden, invites you. From 1959, participation in a total of 10 ZERO exhibitions. In 1960, after completing his basic apprenticeship, oehm completed his studies at the hfg ulm and worked in ulm from then on as a freelance painter.
