Color pictorial paper wrappers with light toning and signs of handling includin…g a 1" x 3" light crease to the upper right hand corner effecting the front cover and the first three pages of the book. Thirty-four numbered pages of humorous text (which never fails to tout Essomarine products) and red, white and blue illustrations by Dr. Seuss illustrating various aspects of sailing a ship (with tongue always firmly in cheek). Also included are two pages of advertising for Essomarine oils and greases and a handy reference chart specifying which Essomarine product to use in specific makes and models of inboard engines in use in 1934. This publication is a good example of Dr. Seuss's ability to combine his artistic and literary abilities in a commercial endeavor with the end product being an advertising piece like no other.
