Jazz critic Dan Morgenstern and noted photographer Ole Brask provides the beautiful b&w photos that illustrate this oversize book about the musicians of the jazz world--from the earliest bands and muscians to the contemporary era. There is also a forward by Dizzy Gillespie. Contains an index, and a bibliography in the rear. Abrams does not designate editions, but this is likely a first edition. Original white cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine lettering and blindtamped title on the front cover. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates.
