    27, [1] p. : (23,5 cm) : broch. Bom exemplar, com leves manchas na capa de brochura e com a lombada parcialmente fendida. O exemplar apresenta no frontispício a assinatura a lápis de James Dalrymple. Sobre a sua identidade, subsistem duas teses: teria sido professor de inglês no Colégio Fisher, em Ponta Delgada (GAUDÊNCIO, 2012, p. 69), ou funcionário superior da Companhia do Cabo Submarino, na Horta (MENDES; FORJAZ, 2007, v. 3, p. 405). Dalrymple, reconhecido como um dos introductores do futebol nos Açores no final do século XIX, será provavelmente o autor deste conto - publicado sob pseudónimo e dedicado à primeira partida de futebol no arquipélago.
