From the library of William St Clair, with his signature to each volume, dated 2009 in volume one in his distinctive handwriting. Note by St Clair; includes analysis of payments for public works, and further notes to the rear pastedown of each volume (see photographs). One-page off-print from MAN on Greek mining by Oliver Davies inserted loosely to page 438 of Volume 2. A nice association: St Clair was a leading historian and supporter of modern Greece, author of That Greece Might Still Be Free, and Lord Elgin and the Marbles amongst other works. An interesting work, not common on the market.
