Martin Jones. There is a 28 page catalogue at the end of the book. Top edge gilt. This is a collection of 37 ditties that had mostly appeared in the pages of the Rangoon Gazette and other papers. They have been revised for their appearance in book form, and deal mostly with the main topics in Burma at the start of the 20th century. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and front board and a gold stamped illustration on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling together with some white spots of damp or insect marking on the boards. The spine ends and corners are bumped. The contents are tight and clean with browning to the free endpapers and a pencil written inscription on the back of the frontispiece. Nice 'Smart & Mookerdum' (Rangoon Bookseller) sticker to the bottom right corner of the front pastedown.
