Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. First edition. viii, 101pp. Pictorial comb-bound wrappers with applied cover label. Text is printed on two different stocks and colors of paper. Light sunning at edge of covers, near fine. Briefly Inscribed by the author on the title page: "with love Lapu". Author's handwritten note tipped in indicates that this publication is a literary spoof ("a pretentious joke" directed to their personal circle of friends who might want to share their spiritual mystery). Laid in is a self-addressed and stamped envelope (unused), with author's typed mailing address in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Inside the envelope is a single typed sheet on author's typed letterhead stating: "Your comments on this story and characters will be greatly appreciated. There are a few questions posed here--with [sic] you might answer if so inclined answer them. Whatever form, your comments are requested." Followed by five questions about the reader's reactions to particular aspects of the book, with a blank space after each question for the reader to respond. Lapu Ooman may be the pseudonym of Paul G. Mathes, who appears to have been the son of Robert J. Mathes and Vera L. Mateer Mathes who are thanked in the acknowledgments as being his parents. The mailing address on the envelope traces back to a senior living apartment that would also confirm Mathes' age of being in his 70s at the time of publication. A scarce publication with no copies located in *OCLC*.
