Köln: Oppenheim Studio, 1975. Quarto (29.6 × 21 cm). Original printed wrappers; [2], 189, [3] pp. with numerous reproductions of video stills. Wrappers lightly stained and with adhesive trace of an old price tag; else good or better. Catalog of the Cologne video studio Oppenheim, which was founded in October 1974 as one of the f…irst venues for the then new art genre. The institution quickly developed into a showcase and production site for the first generation of video artists in West Germany. The gallery, also founded by Ingrid Oppenheim and attached to the studio, represented artists such as Sigmar Polke, Katharina Sieverding, Ulrike Rosenbach, Imi Knoebel, and Klaus vom Bruch. Alongside Gerry Schum and Ursula Wevers, Oppenheim became one of the central protagonists who significantly advanced the establishment of video art. Her video collection is now part of the Kunstmuseum Bonn. Documented here are works by Klaus vom Bruch, Michael Buthe, Jon Gibson, Bruno De Mattio, Christov Kohlhoffer, Darcy Lange, Ernst Mitzka, Dennis Oppenheim, Charlemagne Palestine, C.O. Paeffgen, Ulrike Rosenbach. Texts by Jean-Cristoph Ammann, Bruno De Mattio, Jon Gibson, Darcy Lange (Interview with Willoughby Sharp), Ernst Mitzka, Georg Jappe, Dennis Oppenheim and Ulrike Rosenbach. As of September 2025, KVK, OCLC find only three copies in North America.
