Zustand: Sehr gut, neuwertig und original eingeschweißt. - Gerhard Lamprecht, 1897 in Berlin geboren und 1974 dort gestorben, war als Schauspieler, Autor und Regisseur an knapp 70 Filmen beteiligt. Er bediente viele Genres, doch ragen dabei seine Berlin-Filme heraus. Einen Bruch in der Kontinuität seines Arbeitens gab es trotz der politischen Wandlungen in Deutschland nicht. Seine Filme standen immer in der Zeit bis in die späten 1950er Jahre. Bereits als Zehnjähriger begann er mit der Anlage eines Filmarchivs, das er später seine "Kinemathek" nannte. 1962 wurde sie vom Land Berlin erworben, die Geschichte der einst privaten Sammlung setzt sich bis heute als gemeinnütziges Angebot fort: die Deutsche Kinemathek. Als Herr und Historiker seines eigenen Materials führte Lamprecht auch zahlreiche Interviews mit Filmschaffenden. Die drei Bände der "Edition Gerhard Lamprecht" beschreiben das filmische Werk Lamprechts, führen ein in die Geschichte des Filmsammelns in Deutschland und spüren der Entstehung einer fillmhistorischen Methode nach dem auf Tonband fixierten Interview, dessen Ziel die subjektiv angeordnete Versammlung von möglichst vielen geschichtlichen Fakten ist.
