Wurde durch die Revolution 1848 zu journalistischer Tätigkeit motiviert, gründete das radikale Blatt 'Gerad' heraus' und mußte daraufhin nach Deutschland fliehen. 1858 gründete er, nach Österreich zurückgekehrt, das 'Wiener Wochenblatt', arbeitete bei der 'Ostdeutschen Post' und gründete 1859 die 'Neuesten Nachrichten' (erschien später [bis 1864] unter dem Titel 'Wiener Lloyd').
