This very first special issue of the German architecture magazine "Berliner Architekturwelt" is entirely designed by Otto Eckmann (1865-1902), a celebrated German painter and graphic artist who was a prominent member of the "floral" branch of the Jugendstill (Art Nouveau). The magazine contains numerous Jugendstill borders framing either a title, a text, or a photograph. In addition, it is lavishly illustrated with 83 in-text and full-page b/w and duo-tone photographic reproductions showing some of the best examples of decorative arts of the period in the field of graphic art, furniture, metalwork, silver, textiles, lighting, and glasswork.
