[Twee] Gedichten ter gelegenheit van het Hottentotsch Oiwd niiws, uitgegeven door den heere F.J. van Overschie, raad en schepen der stad Delft. (Delft 1735?). 4to. 8 pp. Onopengesneden, gevouwen blad. (band wat gesleten; los blad iets roestvlekkig en langs de vouwranden gesleten). Witsen Geysbeek, BACWND, V.38: 'Oiwd Niiws, of volbragte belofte, behelzende, in de vreemdste spelling die immer gezien is, de onzinnigste theologische wartaal die ooit in kranke hersenen opkwam [.]'. Van der Aa, BWN, XIV.303: 'Zijne spelling [in Oiwd niiws] gaf aanleiding tot verschillende pasquillen, die in het 8ste vervolg der Nederl. Keurdichten voorkomen. Hij stamde af van Willem, oudste broeder van Huig de Groot, en 'dorst in zijn jeugd den dwingelanden den oorlog verklaren' zoo als gezegd wordt in een Betuyging van dankbaarheid hem toegezongen. Hij werd in zijn tijd aan Vondel en Homerus gelijk gesteld.' Uit de 'Gedichten ter gelegenheid .': "Doch, mag ik u ten besten raden, / Verscheur al uw misrymde bladen, / Verbrandze zelf noch voor uw doot.".

4ş: A-O 4, gepag.: 112 pp. Contemporain perkament. Van der Aa XIII, p.303; Witsen Geysbeek V, p.38; F & vd B p.582 Stichtelijke gedichtjes van de Delftse regent Van Overschie (1680 - ?). Hij werd destijds in schimpdichten, onder andere van het Rotterdamse dichtgenootschap 'Natura et arte', belachelijk gemaakt vanwege zijn zeer particuliere, als Hottentotsch betitelde spelling (zo wordt 'ie' bij hem 'ii', voor 'ou' schrijft hij 'oi' en voor 'oe' 'ou'). Witsen Geysbeek, die nooit de nuance zocht in zijn beoordelingen, heeft het over de onzinnigste theologische wartaal die ooit in kranke hersenen opkwam, maar volgens Van der Aa werd hij in zijn tijd aan Vondel en Homerus gelijk gesteld. Door wie, wordt er echter niet bij gezegd.
