A comprehensive and profusely illustrated account of Viking history and civilisation from the perspective of the Scandinavian world by the Swedish historian and archaeologist Count Eric Oxenstierna (1916-1968). Using sources from Norse sagas, Arab manuscripts and archaeological evidence, Oxenstierna provides a wealth of information on Viking culture. Illustrated throughout, this work is uncommon in the first edition. In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean, except for some offsetting to the end papers.
