Its economic importance has further increased and likely to zoom in coming years. The population growth urbanization change in dietary preferences and increased income have driven the demand for foods of animal origin. Feed and fodder supply still remains the most critical impediment in the growth of livestock industry in the country. Overall deficiency in feed supply remains around 50 per cent. The current production of compound feed from the feed manufacturing sector is only to the tune of 10 million tones per year against a conservative demand of 40 million tones. In present scenario it appears imperative to give a immediate fillip to the feed production. The editors in the present book have contemplated the available informations contributed by learned experts in their field. The book cover the topics like cereal availability processing gelatinization extrusion technology codex alimentarius protection of fats and proteins urea molasses mineral block technology antrinutri nutional factors processing for pig feeding liquid feed handing storage losses mineral mixture preparation agro industrial by products feed microscopy probiotics herbal feed additives etc. It is expected that the book will be equally useful to research scientist in engineering animal nutrition students and feed manufacturing industries alike. 347 pp. …

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The present study has been undertaken to know the growth performance of broiler rabbits raised on different housing systems, to assess the correlation of growth performance of rabbit with their physiological and blood parameters, to observe the carcass characteristics of broiler rabbits at slaughter age (90 days) in relation to different housing systems, to recommend the most suitable broiler breed of rabbit under small scale rearing and to suggest the appropriate scientific housing systems to be followed for economically viable broiler rabbitry. The study reveals that outdoor floor system of housing is the best housing compared to indoor cage and hutch for rearing of broiler rabbits from weaning age (42 days) to market age (90 days) in terms of attaining highest body weight. Moreover, the animals kept in outdoor floor had access to extra green grasses in the form of the outdoor covered grazing area which minimizes the feed cost. In case of different broiler breeds of rabbit's viz. Soviet Chinchilla (SC), New Zealand White (NZW) and Meghalaya Non-descripts (Local), Soviet Chinchilla is the most suitable breed than the other two breeds. 152 pp. Englisch.…
